2015 Magnum Tokyo Workshop with Gueorgui Pinkhassov

Gueorgui Pinkhassov is one of my favourite artist. Three years ago, I got his book "sightwalk" which mesmerised me. Even after three years, I still find new inspiration in these 25 images. His work is the strangest one among his magnum colleague, which is abstractly beautiful but still keeps a clue back to reality.

I am so glad that I have this chance to join his workshop in Tokyo. During this 5-day experience, I learned how he keeps reinventing his way of seeing, and his creative spirit behind the viewfinder. That is: back to the mindset when you first pickup a camera, but learn how to select your work with your own experience in every kind of art with a lifetime.

Here are the works of our excellent members, hope you enjoy!

And of course, thank you Gueorgui!

Here are some guidance and Q&A he gave us before the workshop. Hope it will help you as it helped me:

這是我那幾天掙扎的痕跡
直到最後才被打醒
以為身陷深淵
其實都是自我意識過剩的幻境
